MIKE RUTHERFORD CLAIMS RACE #6

It was a beautiful day at Lanco Speedway in Newmanstown, PA and 73 cars were packed into the pits. Mike Rutherford was the man to beat all night long, but no one could catch him in the A-Main as he collected the 2009 Micro Mania win and the $5000 prize. Following Rutherford to the line was, Tim Buckwalter in second, Heath Hehnly in third, Luke Thomas in fourth and Shane Lewis in fifth.

The 2009 Speedweek title chase ended in a tie between the 2c of Heath Hehnly and the 55L of Shane Lewis.

JAKE MURPHY CLAIMS RACE #5

Jake Murphy dove under Ryan Smith in turn two and pulled off the slide job on lap 28 and lead the final 2 laps for the victory at Linda's Speedway in Jonestown, PA. 70 cars packed the pits and were split up for 2 rounds of 7 heat races. 20 cars from the heats advanced into the A-Main and then 6 cars were added from the B-Main. Following Jake Murphy in 2nd was the 2r of Ryan Smith, 3rd was the 87 of Duane Harbaugh, 4th was the 29x of Ryan Wilson and in 5th was the 11 of Jimmie Brookens.

BEN MURPHY CLAIMS RACE #4

It was a cloudy evening all night long with some passing showers at Susquehanna Speedway Park, but the racing continued amongst 61 total cars and we have a winner. Ben Murphy collected the most points and was awarded the pole position. From the drop of the green he took the lead and never looked back as he crossed the finish line first after 20 laps. It was the 2nd year in a row that Murphy has won at Susquehanna during the PA Speedweek Series. Following Ben Murphy in 2nd was the 2c of Heath Hehnly, in 3rd the 18d of Tim Dietz, 4th the 3z of Brock Zearfoss and in 5th the 62 of Liam Williams.

Finishing 6th was the 11 of Jimmy Brookens, in 7th the 2x of Terry Schaeffer, in 8th the 7 of Timmie Berrick, in 9th the 11m of Terry Peters and in 10th the 19 of Keith McIntyre.

RAIN CLAIMS RACE #3

Rain hit Path Valley Speedway tonight right after the B-Main. The A-Main cars went onto the track but didn't get anywhere and were sent back to the pits for good. The B-Main had its fair share of A-Main type racing, but a rain break in the middle might have changed the whole week. Shane Lewis, the point leader had a smoking car before the rain hit and didn't know if they would have made it the whole race, but the rain allowed them to fix the issue. Also an amazing battle between Ryan Wilson and Aussie Liam Williams for the final transfer position.

Ben Murphy, last years runner up at the Path Valley race was to start on the pole, he actually tied Brett Schoenly in passing points but was awarded the pole due to the pill draw. It didn't take Schoenly long to get comfortable behind the wheel of a 600 again!

This race is official and will not be made up. Everyone got an equal cut of the payoff and show up points fall all. A-Main cars get 5 extra for making the main.

TRAVIS SENTER CLAIMS RACE #2

A wild night of racing that included a flip by one Murphy brother while leading and a disqualification the other Murphy brother when he was light at the scales saw Arkansas driver Travis Senter declared the winner of night number two of PA 600cc Micro-Sprint Speedweek at Lincoln Speedway Sunday night.

Penske Racing employee Ben Murphy came home from Concord, NC and came from 21st starting spot to take the lead from Senter on lap 15 and cross under the checkered flag first in the 25-lap "A" main. But he was light at the scales after the race, and the win was awarded to Senter.

Senter was also one of the cars Ben's brother Jake passed for the lead coming off turn two of lap 14, but the pass involved contact, and Jake flipped down the backstretch just after taking the lead from his fourth starting spot.

Seventh-starting Heath Hehnly crossed third at the finish, but was awarded second after the Murphy disqualification. Third through fifth were Shane Lewis, Ryan Greth, and hard charger Tyler Walton (who started 20th). Sixth through tenth were Brett Schoenly, Ryan Smith, opening night Speedweek winner Mike Dicely, Jimmy Brookens, and Mike Rutherford.

Ninety-six (96) micros turned out for the Lincoln Speedweek show, with cars qualifying through for the "A" main through a series of 20 qualifying events (two for each of the cars), a "C" main, and a "B" main.

The "A" main was lined up heads-up by points gathered in the heats, with Tyson Hall gathering the most points and starting the pole. Hall failed to finish the feature and was credited with 18th finishing position.

MIKE DICELY CLAIMS RACE #1

Mike Dicely shut out his competition by quickly taking the lead on the first lap and never letting go. After gathering the second highest point total in Sprint Bandit Qualifying, Dicely took advantage of his front row starting spot and dominated the race.

The 25 lap main event saw 20 caution free laps, before Mike Rutherford, who was running third, came to a stop in the fourth turn. Dicely’s opponents saw a chance to win and attempted to steal his victory lane moment, however Dicely showed his endurance as he lapped cars one by one and didn’t let up.

“You pass lapped cars just like anyone else. They won’t move over for you,” said Dicely while in victory lane. Dicely drove the Hyper Racing sponsored #44 to victory lane for the second time this season at Trail-Way Speedway.

Although it seemed like Shane Lewis might overtake him in the closing moments of the race, Dicely kept strong and eventually ran out with the win and $2,500 top prize for the first race of the PA 600 Speedweek.

After the caution flew on lap 23 for a spinning Isaac Sneeringer, Lewis again tried to steal the lead from Dicely on the restart. The two made contact, both drivers maintained control and Dicely kept the lead.

Lewis crossed in second with Robbie Kendall, Luke Thomas, and Brian Racine completing the top five. Sixth through tenth were Keith McIntyre Jr., Jimmy Brookens, Tyler Walton, Aaron Spahr, and Tim Buckwalter. Brian Racine accumulated the most points in qualifying.
